yup...proved my point- whats all this my skills are better than yours bollox...what was originally a debate about the merits of software over hardware has turned into a 'my daddy is bigger than yours...' which is expected of noobies or young uns but not someone like you who seems to be mature and have skills......i myself am confident enough in my own preferences to not havce to indulge in such a 'show and tell' your music probably pisses all over mine but its not gonna want me to start using the same gear you use as a result.....

opinions are like arseholes: look on the net and you'll find them everywhere!

yall come on now. like dub said it started with software. now its a competition. it aint about that at all. matter fact this aint even the site for it. its not about who's better. i feel anybody involved wit music should have the support of writers composers producers and whoever else is involved in music. it aint like that (sorry to say) but it should be. this is a site about tips help and the mpc. not a diss site, not a clown site, not a race, not a competition. its about music. about the mpc. MPC-FORUMS.com

lets all grow up yall. we obviously love music. we all know its from the heart. whateva walker feels is good music is from the heart. whateva ice feels is good music is from his heart. we are all different. lets keep it that way. it aint about who's best. come on yall be coo 8)

i guess no battle iceberg-slim? you have everything on your side, hardware, skillz and the forum members are the jugdes. what else could you ask for. plus, i would not mind having your mpc4000. for the rest of you all, i own a mpc2000 uses it a few times a week. i have it sitting in my den where i watch tv and bang out beats/ideas when watching tv. the thread is about if you are doing hip-hop/rap a software set using ableton live3 and reason is a very nice setup. i do not know if you heard of d and d studios in nyc (alot of rap star record there) but i went to elementary, jr. high, high school and berklee with doug g and doug l. Recorded there hundred of times. use to go to doug g house to jam all the time (doug g plays the guitar). i see the power of the mpc because i (this guy full of himself) have one. with a mpc you must buy the following 8 out, memory upgrade, storage device (zip/cd), tone modules/samplers, midi box, effects, mixer, multitrack audio recording device, cd burning device. mpc is great at what it does but ...

with the software setup ableton live3 is the sequencer, sampler, multitrack audio recording device, effects, mixer. reason is the sound module/sampler/drum machine. reason with subtractor/malstrom synth you could design your own sounds. the pc/lappy lets you run the software, burn your cd and customize your cd jewel case and cd. moblity, you just meet a rapper, he could spit some lines right then and there. mix it right then and there. update the cd jewel and cd. and you have a complete product. the bottom line is the product. in my world it is. AND WITH THE MPC THIS SETUP IS EVEN MORE POWERFUL. in closing, i love my mpc2000 but where studio time costs a few dollar the software setup will save you time and money. period.

hiphop and rap roots are about the battle. i just think that this 40 year old man can kick iceberg-slim ass in a battle. period (with hardware let alone software) i am from nyc this reminds me of the battle in the park back in the day.

problem with the battle is i don't think anyone cares who's better out of someone they've never heard of and someone who admits he's no pro.....or they just don't care full stop....

damn you are 40? Cmon now. Aint no grown as$ professional man gonna be beefing with cats on the internet. Yo you are such a tool. F*** my momma? Cmon thats on some highschool ish. My son that your rasing out there says stuff like that. I think this whole post is wack and your the wackiest f*** in it. I think about everyone else who reads your little breakdown-snappin at kids and sh**, feels sorry for you pathetic a$$. You might have skill and can play dope beats and whatnot but your 40! Most of us are 20. I hope to god I can make tight beats when Im 40! I hope not to be no session musician that sits online with a gay little laptop and ignores my kids and has an ego problem with a little dic*. Aint nobody gives a rats a** about you jammin out with D and D studios. Everyone who use to work there and record with them, have mad resentment towards them. I heard in numerous article from Primo, Jeru, Craig G, and many more that those dudes were coc*******s. So it figures that you would sleepin in their beds lettin em tagteam you, "Makin Music" or whatever you tell your wife (actually shes probaly gone) and kid. If you are 40 and and still gigin that some sorry ish. You would have figured with all this talent that you have a real production deal or a real job makin real money. Not some jerko** who is doin what most of us will be doin in our late 20's. Playin drums for like b-list acts at shit hole gigs. That some steller career. And doin "sessions" with a bunch of broke as$ dudes. (D&D Studios). I bet you live in a little as$ apartment, no wife, a kid that you neglect, and a never was been career. I can see why you are so bitter. Thats some sorry ish right there. See im in my 20s and have a whole career ahead of me, and I will guarntee in the next 10 yrs I will be makin moves. But by the time I am forty I wont be goin onto internet forums talkin about this revelation that occured to me about some equip that Ive had for yrs. This epihany that software is better then hardware! OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I BOW DOWN TO THE SOFTWARE KING OF NYC!!!! THE TOUGHEST, BITTERIST, INSECURIST, LAMEST, WACKIEST producer (sorry-SESSION PLAYER) IN THE WORLD!!!!!
Dork.

i was brought up in the hood but now live on the other side of tracks, you could take a brotha out of the hood but cant take the hood out of a brotha. my man send me the finger. he could not do it to my face so he posted it. my recourse was to talk about his motha. i am about the music. i just called someone out to is who can make nicer beats. it is called "cutting" or "battling" (now a days). it is old as music itself.

okay but you battle your peers not elder vs. student. Thats pretty lame. Your 40, hood nuggah. I would love to give you a finger to your face but I cant drive all the way down to NYC today on some internet beef. I probally could, but that would be the lamest thing I think I could possibly ever do. I try not to do retarded things anymore like beatin the piss outta some wanksta in NYC. Your probally a geek Ni***. all up in the lab. I mean the lab-top. Tool.

bingero, i seem to have touch a nerve. i live in a $400,000 house, with housekeeper and a lawn company to cut my lawn. i am married and one son 15 (he plays hockey, a brotha). my son is a jr. and we hang all the time. he tells me that my beats are wacked too.

something to remember:

for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. dont give anyone the finger if you cant take the reaction.
