OK here we gO..
it all started when i bought a used MPC on ebay, and when i got it i founD ouT to mY surprisE that only3 pads (MAYBE) were functioning..
..NOW THEY ALL FUNCTION..
and this is a small guide on how i got my pads to do so,although this way may be cheaper ,i stronglY recommEnd goiNg wiTH " ANTOnyM PAD soLUtioN " i bit more pricey but worTH every Penny In the long run...in both functionality and durablity.
so here s how i fixed my MPC 1000
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) first thing i did was Buy plastic ( actually i used one of my old plastic binders to cut a grid for the backing of The new sensor bank), vinyl, flexible graphiTe, and latex rubbEr.i also cut gridS for the sensoRs and flexible graphitE out of the vinyL..
2) then i started to take apart the entire OriGinal PAd assEmbly..
3) then with only just the plain sensors i put tape underneath theM theN place them abck upoN the MEtal platter on which they originally sat upoN..
4) now i placed one of the grids over the sensors, this is the beginning procesS to making a " one whole pad sensor bank " like on all the other mpc's.
5) next i disconnected the sEnsors from the metal platteR faced thEm dowN face firsT on THe tabLE on whICh i was workINg and began To install iN the back of the sensors the grid that i cut form my old binder that was made out of plastic.
6) now we have th finisHEd resulT...a single pad baNk ( THE WAY AKAI SHOULD OF DONE IT THE FIRST TIME)
7) now lets attach it to the metal platter, now for this there is no glue or screws needed, actually when you remove the sensors from the metal platter there is going to be 4 screws that are going to be still present..leave thEm alONe becuase we are going to use those as locking screws which will be locking the sensor bank in place, but first mark the spots where those 4 screws are goINg be behind the plastic thats behind the Sensor griD and make 4 small holes,so put the connectors thru all the proper holes(be very carefuL,or else yoUR goiNG to PUll the wiREs off of the sensors and then YOu'll need to PUll ouT the soldering iroN),ok now
your connectors and wires are through the grid in the back of the sensors,so now what you must do is push gently down on the area where the 4 screws are, whats going to happen is the screws are going to push through The plastic ,and you'll know when your successful at this when your pad bank is resting flat on the platteR secure and unable to move like so.

now..we should have at this point cut 2 more grids out of the vinyl,i didn't document this entire process but i'll try to describe it my best,so before we use the grids we going to cut 16 pad size pieces out of the flexible graphite, after this is done we are going to peel the vinyl and expose thE adhesive part of the vinyl and place the flexible graphite evenly over the grid holes so that they are centered, and then after that we are going to place the other piece of vinyl, its almost like we're making a sandwich -> VINYL->GRAPHITE->VINYL, like so it shoulD look..
9) now we're going to make a entire one-piece assenmbly of pads, this is where the rubber latex comes in i used ( THERA-BANDS) ,so i cut my desired length and placed pads in the MPC covering face down backside up then placed silicone glue on the edges of the padS and then placed thE ruBber latex and waited for it to drY,after it dries take the pads out of the covering and " WALLA" you should have a single pad sheet, some pads might be loose so just apply some more silicone glue to any loose areas and wait to dry,the glue is easily obtainabLE at any hardwaRE stORE and is COmpletely flexiBlE..here is what mY desiGN looKS like...
and here's our 3 components
1) sensor bank
2) flexible graphite grid
3) pad sheet
10) now install the sensor bank, it should loOK liKe so.
11) now in order to install the other 2 components what you must do is apply some more silicone glue to the edges and along the lines of the grid( not on the graphite itself but along the grid lines.
in this picture the graphite grid is glued onto the pad sheet, now place the pad sheet/graphite grid on top of sensor bank and put on the cover and your ready gO...
