i know it wasy diffrent..
by breaking it down u mean, triming and saving the trims or zone edit??

Like if I have a whole bar I want to sample, and I know I want 4 equal chops out of it, I'll just set my sample length short, and then sample the first note, save it, move to note 2, sample it etc. It helps if your turntable is right beside the mpc- I got my left hand pushing buttons on the mp, and the right cuing up each note. I find this is the fastest, but you gotta know how want it chopped before you start.
