wow. how can you possibly say that and think sampling is ok? don't find the quick way around it, complex. that's bullsht. go learn EVERY INSTRUMENT IN THE WORLD so you never have to sample again. stop regressing the musical artform!
"scratching" on the mpc is the first step toward a larger skill that is largely unique from scratching. go drink you some chamomile and relaxxxxxx
Im not sayin samplin is, im sayin fakin scratches is and samplin other peeps hiphop and not diggin for original samples is.
When it comes to samplin propa records and original samples peeps have dug... thats what progresses the artform, and stops it from becomin stale.
Nuff peeps pride themselfs on theyre diggin, its as big part of it (and can be bigger) then actual sequencin, it defines ur style in the sense of what u learn to dig for and the type of sounds and styles u dig, just as much as how u use them. And its wack when kids come along and just sample that sh!t from other hiphop... and i dont understand how peeps are actually defendin that.
Also I play trumpet (have for 15 years), i played in orchestra's and sh!t.. and played guitar since 11 years back. And can obviously read and write music (bass and treble clef). I have a very indepth understandin in music. (When u mention about takin time to learn instruments). And i been f**kin with records, turntables and beats since 10 years back (turntables longer then beats).
"scratchin" on the mpc is def not a step towards anything good. If peeps want scratchin on theyre tracks they should hook up with a real dj and incorperate them or learn themselfs.
As for the "findin the quick route", thats all these peeps are doing, tryin to take quick routes instead of learning properly and puttin in the work. Which i dont understand why they do because learning in the fun part (everythings always a learnin curve).. but they just want a quick easy way all the time.

Ps : It's funny when some people blame others who are scratching with a mpc while they cut with cd turntables.
ALL WE CARE IS ABOUT HOW IT SOUNDS RIGHT ?
c0mplex wrote:Why not get a turntable and mixer... and learn to scratch, fakin that sh!t is bullsh!t.
Is it really that much trouble to learn? and fake scratchin just wack, not only sound wack but the principle, especially when dj's are the backbone of hiphop.
U should be enjoyin the learnin process.. not findin "quick" ways around it and fakin sh!t.
c0mplex wrote:U peeps dont have a clue.. hiphop is based on findin beats in old unknown records.. from the start.. it also evolved into flippin them.. but its no short cut to music..

It takes longer and more work / practice to learn to dj then play instruments, much more. And same with makin beats if u do and learn properly, includin the engineerin side (layerin, filtering, eq'n, compression etc etc).
And anyone can make a beat and chop sample.. but to make it actually sound "hiphop" not many can do,, thats why premo, pete rock and peeps alike will always be such a lenth apart in skill compared to so many.. plus its not just skills its also mindstate.
Thats wack peeps justifyin theyre bullsh!t. FAKES, ur justifyin fakin somin, which means u ARE FAKING!

Chill dude. not everyone has access too, or money too buy records, mixer, amp, turntables, needles and all the other sh**e that goes with it.
