2000XL or 2500???

I have the opportunity to get a 2000 this week. Should I buy it or hold off and get the 2500 in the next month or two? What do you guys think?

such a hard question to ask man. i'm guessing the only reason you ask is the fact that u want to know how the users of each feel about their machine, but it really comes down to what are you trying to create, and what machine can help you do that better. you'll probly be able to cop a XL half the price of the 2500 so do the research and make the right purchase

ive got the 2kxl and was gunna upgrade it but when i looked into it, the things i heard about both the 2500 and 4000 put me off

there's gotta be at least a thousand threads asking the same question...alls you gotta do is use "SEARCH" button on top

if u are new to mpcs just get the one u like more

im sure you wont be disappointed if its your first.

you cant honestly loose either way.

Get the 2500. Why jump on a 2kxl just to find out you'll be lusting for a 2500. But like some mentioned, if it's your first MPC, the 2500 just may be a little overkill for you for now. My first MPC is what I currently have, a 4k. But I have other samplers & drum machines that helped me make that decision...which I don't regret.

ive worked quite a bit on both machines and i actually prefer the 2kxl, even thought the 2500 has more bells and whistles. ive said this before in a comparison against the 1k....the 2000xl has swing functions that i dont think 2500 has and i know the 1k doesnt have...the 2kxl has the ability to control and change the swing of individual pads by themselves while recording or after...and you can tell it to swing the notes earlier or later. i havent been able to find that feature on the 2500...to me it looks like its just like 1000 - swing percentage and that's it. i haven't used the grid edit feature on the 2500 (or 1000 w/ jj os) that people rave about though...you may want to look into that.

The 2500 does individual Pads in both the Akai OS and the JJ OS.

2500 man! i agree it may be a slight overkill if its your first mpc but what a place to start its a beast i had a 2000xl for 2years and it is a heavy mpc
but id go for the newer option mate!
