theres not a solid rule, as there's always varients, but that qert / youtube link i posted shows a basic starting point
your aiming to get a balance basically, so when you lift up the arm it floats abit before falling. some peops want all the weight on the needle, put with that turntable you shouldn't need any extra weight - just light hands!
Co sign..
Each table and stylus is diff hense the varients, not only that but it can also come down to personal preference..
The standard way (usually) to set up 1200 with shure stylus for instance is have the tone arm flat so its purly horizontal and not angled, have the anti skate set to 0 and the tone arm weight on backwards, some peeps like to angle the shure slightly inwards.. some heavy handed turntablists do this, although it would burn through ur records.
All comes down to a mix of what ur usin and ur preferences, althought its best to base those preferences on known techniques in settin up.. then adapt them to suit urself.
See if u can have a jam down ur local store (or take a dj with u to test properly along side urself).. just make sure u dont rush into any purchase and find whats best for u. In the lower price range the Numark tt500's perform real good, but then u might prefere something else over them.
