mpc and a new synth? which one

heres one for ya , i am selling my sp1200 , i could go for a used motif 6 , new motif rack , or a used korg ms 2000 . i never have held a synth longer than a month , but really want to own one , all my beats are from vinyl to mpc 2000xl , i need a little edge with a board teamed up with the 2kxl.

Think about all the records you could buy with $1500 dollars.

Well, you might be right....i heard the record selection aint to hot in Florida...out here its crazy, San Jose, Berkely, Oakland, San Francisco...10 record stores in each city that are guaranteed to have some good shit. And if your ordering vinyl on line that kinda hampers everything and youll be paying more for the good shit.

As far as the MS2000 goes, it pretty much covers all my synth needs, basslines and a couple of pads, what really pops it off is it doubles as a full blown analog effects board...so you can run any sound/sample/drum through it, twist a couple of knobs and its unrecognizable...i got mine for $500 used off a eBay, it was in perfect condition. It definitley wont give you that shiny Ruff Ryders sound though.....And if you plan on basing your production around synths I'd probably go for the Motif...Hope that helps.

Dont forget that alot of these sounds are available in the sound exchange as well. So all you really might need is a midi controller.

I got a MS2000R and I like it alot. Its cool to change sounds. My friend also brought over his PSR290 and hooked it up and even made some of those sounds sound good. Oh yeah and its great or Bass tones.

check out the KS4 or KS5 by Novation. Its a remake of the K station,but better. wicked wicked sounds can be made by having fun with the knobs. its about a G i think. but go to synthsite.com for more info. btw, I LOVE MY KSTATION. only wish it was multitimbral. but I will be getting a KS4 in the future.

I'd recommend a ES-1x or similar product by studio electronics. Very nice REAL analogues. Something practical would be a Korg Triton ( or rack ).
Something cheap, a Pulse+ or matrix1000 with a Sherman filter bank.

HAD THE MOTIF FOR 4 HOURS TODAY , MADE THREE TRACKS , AM FEELING IT , COULD COP FOR 1300 ,BUT MADE VINYL SAMPLED TRACKS , THEY WERE DEFIENETLY HOTTER. I GOTTA CHECK THE KORGS THIS WEEK . IT SOUNDS BETTER TO COP A LITTLE KORG MS2000 AND LIKE 300 ON WAX . WAIT FOR A MODULE , AND JUST GET INTO THE ANALOG EFFECTS
