Real dope, would hook u up nice.. zero latency monitoring, depending on ur computer speed u can record with real low buffer settings (my pc is sh!t and i record with only 2milli seconds delay, which I havent seen on alot of systems).

U also got real dope dsp effects as the interface has dsp chip, and the patchmix application is so dope i couldnt explain, I really like my emu card wouldnt change it for long time if at all.. is perfect for what I do.

alright i was just checkin...what if they came in direct drives but it was about 200 dollars more and a diffrent brand...but it was still a box special..would it still be considered toys?

that 1616m looks sick! little pricey though, i guess i could save awhile before i get one.

but it doesnt come with one of those din cards like the 1616 m. a little bit cheaper though, you think it would be better to get one with the cards? what are the advantages? just more portability?

so if i get this correct, these interfaces make it so when i plug my mpc or anything for that matter into my computer in (the mic port) then it wont sound like sh!t? plus makes it so i can get a midi port on my laptop also?
and also if i got one, i could play my guitar or bass through the midi or the "in" jack \ and record it onto my daw too couldent i?

Yo wax that 1616m.....shits yesterdays illness...and honestly for some one that is still learning alot etc. the patchmix would not be helpful it would be a pain in the a$s and you'll be stuck just trying to get the damn thing set up...take my word for it man, been there done that....

you looking at a unit that is perfect for you for right now man, simple and effective and pretty much plug and play...he reason you dont see the card with the audiophile is because its firewire so you don't need it...all you gotta do is run a firewire cable from your lappy to the audiophile DONE!

and to ya last few questions, yes it will make ya sound quality MUCH MUCH better...but your not going to run ya things to computer anymore you connect the audiophile to your lappy and then everything you want to get on your lappy would run to the audiophile...like ya guitar, ya mpc, etc...

I know they are pricey aswell but maybe you want to look into the m-audio firewire 410 or the 1814 because the audiophile is decent but you will outgrow it fast or have to be changing around cables alot...the 410/1814 offer alot more inputs/outputs so you could run a turntable, mpc, guitar, speakers/monitors, all without switching any cables...and they also come with built in mic pre's that are fairly decent so if you want to record vocals down the road all you need is a mic and your off...

I dunno homie your headed in the right direction, just do some research on what you really NEED and think of what you plan on buying in the near future so that when you by a interface or soundcard you dont grow out of it with the quickness, your better off paying a little bit more to get you something you wont have to upgrade for a long while....

then i could hook up the bass, mpc, midi keyboard, and a table after i bought one... but would i need to use two ports to hook up a table and a mixer or just one cause the table would run through the mixer then the mixer to the firewire. or would it go table fire mixer fire?

nah u got the right idea pimpin...just one really because you will chain it....once you have the 410 hooked up to the laptop anything you want to run to the lappy will go to the 410....

you would go table > dj mixer > 410

and then everything else can just go directly to the 410...

also not sure if you knew and i dont remember if you just wanted to sample or sratch aswell..because if you dont really care for scratching and really just want to sample records...you could get something like the vestax handy trax or the numark pt-01 for about a hundred bucks and it
DOES NOT need a seperate dj mixer...but like I said that is really only an option if ONLY want to sample...cant really scratch on either of the units....

u should be all set homie, now u just gotta get ya gwap up and get it done!

lol, ah man u have trouble learnin that? i found it so easy, i love the patchmix application / mixer find it extremly useful and so dope and easy.

Guess its diff for diff peeps, i just found it all quite obvious myself

^^ nah pimpin, I think it's ok and most of it is self explanitory once you have an idea of whats what and what does what...

but i'm speaking for his interest I think if he buys the 1616 he's gonna be back here a week after pullin his hair out asking us wtf this patchmix is...

so to save him the headache I put him towards and easier solution that will still get homie great results...

for the record, i do think the patchmix is a pain in the ass even if you know what your doing lol...

Yeah true I hear u on that, for some one who totally learnin it might be awkward for him, although once its learnt would prob help him with alot of things that some day he would eventually learn anyway, I used to cut corners and find quick routes myself but in the end after I knuckled down and learnt it helped me progress a hell of alot faster..

Still he should check a few things out and find whats best for him, coz everything different and whatever we have learnt through personal experimentation dont mean sh!t to him coz everyone has a diff way of thinking, also for alot of people its totally diff learnin off a forum compared to some one in person showing them, which is a shame because I know at least 40% of people who put the effort in to help peeps on this forum could help them alot better In person being able to show and talk through things instead of typing in text.

i just ordered the m-audio 410 firewire interface and a numark dxm pro mixer and a numark tt500, with a scratching needle and got two free slipmats!
