I feel stupid for asking, but I am at work and I cant view the online help or Read The Funny Manual. How do I get the ping pong loop to work? I can audition it, but how do I get it to work when the beat is playing?

As long as its set to alternate loop in the trim screen you should be able to hear it in the sequence, make sure the layer is set to note on. I like this feature already.

I like this feature already.

me too. at first i thought it was geared only to loop heads, but now that i think about it, it's even more powerful for oneshots of every style and color.

i bought a hurricane and i'm gonna mull over this tonight while eating cous cous

Hey man, what you do with your girl is between you and her. I only eat my girl's cous cous on special occasions.

you are right. that feature is definitely geared toward one-shot rather than full loop. i think it was introduced in old samplers, at first to extend the tail of one shots (very useful when sample time used to be an issue).
now less useful because of technology improvement, but imho, on hi hat and cymbal it should sound very good. (i have not got time to try it yet on the 1k though).

i love couscous for festival. just boil water, add some random ingredients, and you get your meal within minutes. :)

excellent couscous concoction:

couscous
onion
garlic
cumin
salt
soy beans

bring the water to a boil with the onions and soybeans, throw in the garlic when the onions are cooked, then toss in the couscous. add the rest of the spices and eat it. when you're cooking for yourself and you've got nobody to impress, this will save you from going hungry or spending money on food...and it's healthy and good

a bout bow tie :
i can remember a previuos thread where many people explainedto take asample, copy it, reverse it sequence it in a bow tie maneer, bounce to diske and then loop the sample>>>wow quite hard to do for this new 4.74 easy task

about couscous (i used google translation for this, if you need help, just tell me...):
Ingredients (for 6 people):
- 1,5 kg of meat of sheep in the shoulder or the collar
- 1 kg of semolina with average couscous
- 6 carrots
- 4 onions
- 4 turnips
- 4 tomatos
- 4 zucchinis
- 1 olive oil cup
- 1 spoon with saffron
- cumin
- spices with couscous (short-nap cloth-el-hanout)
- coriandre
- 1/2 spoon pepper and harissa
- 1 small box of tomato puree
- 1 small chick-pea box For the onion jam:
- 1 kg of onions
- 250 G of dry grapes
- 125 G of honey
- 100 G of butter Preparation:
To soak the meat in 2 cold water L with onions, the puree tomaties, spices, the olive oil. To salt, pepper. To light fire. At the end of 1/2 H, to add carrots and turnips then, 1/2 H later, tomatos and zucchinis. To let cook 1 H moreover, by then adding in the bubble chick-peas. In same time, to moisten the semolina with 3/4 of liter of salted water. To place in the strainer above the meat bubble, so that it cooks with the vapor. 30 min after, to roll the semolina with the fingers, to moisten it again, and to give it to cook, covered with a cloth, during ten minutes. Before being useful, to add a piece of butter, to shell the semolina and to lay out it in dome. For the onion jam, to dissolve onions in butter. To salt, pepper, then to add the dry grapes and honey.

we also definitely need reverse loop (& non-destructive reverse sample play) in there. i don't know why he didn't just add it while he was putting in the ping-pong loop, since he's already implemented the reverse playback of the sample.

wuhheard! That would be great...
Although, it wouldn't be much different than just destructively reversing it from trim mode and looping it.

Thanks JJ for PingPong loop! You rule.

mkl... that's recipe sounds wicked!

I think you CAN use them effectively with loops.I've come up with some cool results with loops using ping pong. When I incorporate them into a beat I'll post them.
