i don't think we'll see stan's manual for a while now....

lol, you got me thinking: in the UK there's a mobile phone network called Orange. They had an advert a while back that had the line: "The future is bright, the future is Orange".

perhaps we could adapt it to: "The future is bright, the future is JJ"!

"JJ, Ma Man..." like Frank would say ;)

Looks great and I'm really excited about the release of OS2. But I don't agree with the update policy. I think users who already paid for JJ OS 1 sould pay less like it's common everywhere else in the software biz. It's unfair because we already paid 30 bucks and did all the bug testing and helped to improve the OS in terms of functionality and stuff. So, rather we pay less, or new users, who havend had jj os 1 should pay like 69 bucks when OS 2 comes out. But maybe he comes correct in the end and puts up an upgrade payment option. Seems that I gotta get back in the InDesign Lab again anyway :!:

DOPE!!!!

and from looking at those pics i just realized that there are seperate ADSR controls for filters!

but then again looking at those pictures,is there only one filter per pad now??!

i cant tell from the pictures....

it looks like there are separate adsr controls for all of the following:

amp
pitch
filter

with aftertouch control for each one as well.
i can't tell if there's 1 filter per pad now, it may be, or it may be that there's only asdr for the first of the 2 filters per pad.

what i hope the most is that the "WHOLE" button is preserved across the board, and that these ADSR controls are available for edit in GPE in addition to what looks like NPM (accessed from the main screen)

Non destructive chopping would be great!
I hope JJ bring with OS2 Ping Pong back? :)

Yes, because On the JJ Website i read the big text
Update is no charge

Source: http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/paypal/

Update from OS1->OS2 should be free (or cheaper for OS1 User)

I think it's fair for JJ to charge v1 users... If you don't want the extra features, then don't upgrade... Seems logical.
It's not like he's doing alll this for fun.

By AlphaMale Tue Nov 20, 2007 5:58 pm
it does look like there's only one filter now. personally, i wouldnt miss the second filter, but i imagine someone has a good use for it.

non destructive chopping is gonna seriously change the way i think about sampling on the mpc. thats more than just a new feature, thats a whole new method.

if u have os1 and u want to upgrade u pay: 10 usd (more or less)
if u dont have os1 then u pay 30 usd like we did when we still had the akai.

logical ?

can somone explain how non-destructive chopping works?

is it something along the lines of chopping without slicing or altering the original sample? think im confused.

also has jj therefore worked out how to fit more space into this os in order to add these features?

Sorry Stan I disagree. I have Mac computers and even though I purchase an update, they charge me the full $125. or so for it, I don't complain. I've had nothing but Mac computers and they update every few years. Bugs from the software, sure. They deserve the update. But $39.00 bucks can't be that bad... can it??

I really think that those that want a cheap way out are not true to what they are going for or maybe I'm just ingnant! If you have an MPC100 or above, your not starving that much, let's be real.... I'll even bet some may have high end video game consoles....

yes. it sets up a definable number (2-64) of independent start and end points per sample. jj is calling nondestructive chopping "CHOP" in OS the 2nd, not to be confused with "SLICE," which creates new files.

when you assign the sample in program mode, you then move to the "CHOP" column and note what slice you want that particular pad to play.

more space. he moved the os from here to there. very exciting.

hahahah
agreed. i view os2 as a new product, so i'm happy to buy it.
