Normaly the decay stage of an envelope folows right after the attack stage has reached its maximum level.
If you wait +-30msec before the decay stage is activated, you hear no difference with higher attack settings. But with the attack on 0, you will get a 30msec log pulse. This gives the envelope lots more punch, and makes the attack part of a sound much more snappy.
It is a realy usefull addition for any drumsampler/synth.

Is it possible to implement this in OS2?

Edit:
And different kind of slopes for the attack decay and release would be cool to.

at the least a variable slope or multiple fixed values for attack. release slopes doesnt get me so excite. :p

I don't think he's asking for release slope. It sounds to me like a fixed hold after the attack. I'd personally take it a step further and ask for a variable hold, or in other words an AHDSR envelope (like Battery and the ASR-X and others)

I'd also love an AHD envelope on OS1 (and OS2 for that matter). But you can approximate that as is.

mikolo and i were talking about this. the HOLD doesn't even have to be in the actual ADSR graphic...it'd be great if HOLD was an extra parameter in that screen, however, and its parameter was measured in ticks and beats. this way, the gap between note on and oneshot would be successfully bridged.

yeah, those snappy env's would be killer.

30 msec was chosen because the minimoog has this amount of delay before going into the decay stage. But being able to adjust it yourself would be very cool.
