They never had the older mpc's where they had to use creativity and or skill.... Dont let more options be your deciding factor, because you will never understand true beat making with alot of this new stuff thats on these samplers now...

I happen to own a mpc2500, but i rarely use it anymore, because to be honest the Mpc-500 is not that much of a difference...
the difference is very, very clear. the 500 is just fine and dandy (albeit over overpriced) for a wav playback machine. it's a real handy midi controller/sampler. i'd love one for portable sampling. for the right person, it'd make a good addition to another workstation--even as a standalone workstation for WAV PLAYBACK.
clearly, i'm not bashing the 500. i would rather say i'm clearing murky water here. to say there's not much difference in between the os of the 500 and the os of the 1000/2500 is horribly misleading to a potential user. i haven't even gotten into the difference in sequencing power between these two classes of units.
