There are four of them with plenty of knobs and sliders for external control. If you need GBs of samples, simply bring you laptop loaded with your favorite streaming sampler with you like alot of DJs are doing now. No hardware sampler can replace the need for GBs of samples.
I'm not like most "DJ's". 1) when I DJ, I play Vinyl. 2)So with the 4000, I'm talking about stricly making my own music.
I guess I could limit myself like others in the past, but why am I doing that, when I currently have the power at my fingertips?
1. I don't make a music on a computer. Why would I want to bring a laptop when I have an MPC and a number of Rack and Desktop Synths?
2. I use all 4 external outputs, so maybe you should readup my posts on the 4000 board. I use a varietty of Analog and Virtual Analog synths controlled from my MPC 4000 and P3 Step Sequencer for manipulating Midi Notes live.
3. I never said I needed Gigabytes of Samples, but I do use more then the 512M that is provided by 4000. I currently get by, by using a seperate rack mount sampler that allows me to load up samples, while it still is playing the existing ones.
Cheers,
