If i use note repeat on midi devices it works fine, but randomly triggers higher notes. Am i just missing something or is it a bug? This happens with Yamaha TX81Z and Korg Electribe EA-1 MKI

Maybe you have some kind of arpeggiator turned on in one of your sound modules ? Just a thought.

Yeah that's what i thought at one point, but it's happening on both modules... I hope it's not my mpc breaking down.

Edit: And this does not happen with samples.

tosh - can you give more info - like OS1 or 2 and version number.
what's plugged into the midi ins and outs.
anything else that may give a clue to the problem....

yep

like OS1 or 2 and version number.

os2 0.83 (yeah i'll update this weekend before sessions)

what's plugged into the midi ins and outs.

MPC midi out -> midi in of yamaha tx81z or electribe ea-1

anything else that may give a clue to the problem....

Yeah i already sent bug report to jj today when i noticed this only happens in main screen. While in grid-edit mode this doesn't happen.

Also what is weird is that high notes are out of range, meaning that i can't play same high-notes with pads, since they go up to like c6. In a way this is productive bug since it adds some randomness into composition :)

Yeah, that thing called 'randomness' can be very helpfull in creating process. Too bad sometimes I didin't care to save these accidental things, I do care now : )

what you will find, is you are recording using a DRUM track
thats where the random notes your seeing are happening.- you have to switch it to MIDI
unfortunately then you will find your high notes are not recording note offs.

yeah - at first wasn't sure if it was the same thing i was getting . anyway, sent a bug report yesterday.
here's his email

not sure if he will correct this problem in the DRUM track - seeing as your s posed to use MIDI -
therefore the randomness thing may stay - :) so if you want you can use it creatively .
lets see what he doe's in the next update.
