newer mpc takes 16bit when most pros wish to master at 24 bit or higher, it's ok for them if they're mixing that in with other stuff that's 24 bit (or higher) but in general you want a master that's better than CD quality not equal to it. an mpc is a sampler first sequencer second (imo) so i guess it would be ok slaved up to other (better) gear.
however
the average music customer could not care a fcuk if it's 16 or 24 or whatever bits, they first have to understand that they can have different file formats at varying quality ("how many songs can i get on an ipod?

-oh fcuk orfff!!") without understanding their mp3's are probably not CD quality & listening thru crap earphones anyway.
[most] people want to know about interesting sounds not jargon, if i buy a record i like, find it's done on basic kit in a shed, do i take it back? no, if anything i would respect them more. but nowadays the bar's been raised with production so if you're wanting to make money you gotta compete, unless you can pull off something sooo original it stands out.
