Hmm, seems to add more complexity to the creative process. I'll just stick to good ol sample chopping thank you.

I just read a very interesting interview in the most recent issue of TapeOp about a company called CC(? forget what it stands for) that has introduced a new way of licensing material. Good read, especially for a FREE mag! Shout to dj e.d.e for putting me on to that joint! (Actually he didn't just tell me. He posted it to a forum. I just happen to be one of the people that was listening. "Remix" is decent too. I don't miss "Scratch" as much as I thought it would. I couldn't even remember the name Scratch yesterday which is pretty sad.)
Peace,

EducatedHands wrote:nice!!!! bye bye sample laws...Although this is another topic, but i think that the whole sampling/copyright issue sucks from jump. I am no expert on the law, but as i have always felt, that once you alter THE MASTER recording(via pitch, speed, chop, etc.), it isn't the Master anyway!! I would assume the MASTER would be the comercial release as is. If i slightly alter(pitch up or down, which gives a different key for example) the comercial release, then it is not the same record.
