Another problem

I mentioned a few months ago that I could not transfer files from my PC to the MPC via akSys. Just a few moments ago I tried again and it is still not working properly. I tried re-installing akSys, that didn't work. I can transfer AKP files but I cannot transfer .wav only files.

Anyone else run into this problem? I am using akSys ver. 2.53 on Windows XP. I never had this problem before.

Did you reformat your mpc hd with OS 1.71?

Maybe u should format your PC´s HD too.
Windows is a well known buggy bastard...
If u format windows and, after installing all your software staff (including aksys), it works, I reccommend u to use norton ghost or something like that to recover your system if this happens to you again.

Hi adrian! sorry to hear about your AKSYS frustrations.

Maybe the usb drivers have become corrupt. I've seen this before. Before you do this make sure you remember where you installed the USB drivers. If you dont, that's ok, just download version 2.00 (not 2.01; I believe this one is for WIN98SE). Extract the drivers into the "MY MUSIC" folder; Just easier to remember where they are.

While the MPC4000 is connected to the PC, go into the "Device Manager" , uninstall the "AKAI MPC4000 PRODUCTION CENTRE" (which are the usb drivers for the MPC4000), unplug the MPC4000, restart the PC, plug the MPC4000 back into the PC, at the "Found New Hardware..."
Choose no, choose "Install from a list or specific location," choose "Search for best driver...,include
this location in the search, click browse and double click the "MY MUSIC" folder and it will automatically install the driver. If it shows a list of drivers pick the one labeled "akmpc4ku.inf" then it will ask for files needed then just pick the MY MUSIC folder again, and choose the file "akMPC4kU.sys" and that should do it. After this, install AKSYS.

Ok, so I finally had some time to mess with this again. Here is what I found. As I mentioned previously, I am able to transfer some files from PC to MPC via akSys., but not many. With my laptop connected to the MPC it works fine, no problems there, so I can rule out a MPC problem.

The files I am trying to transfer from my PC to the MPC are all good files. I moved them to a USB jump drive, then moved them over to the MPC, again no problems.

I am guessing that the problem is a PC problem. As joselinno said, I should try formatting the PC HD. Not sure if I really want to do that. Although, I could use a new HD in the computer.
