I guess there is no time like the present to post OS 1.01 bugs in the MPC 5000.
1. Graphic Matrix Editor (GME). At random, you can not play sounds or record in the GME. However, if you hold down the note repeat button, your sounds will play. Take your finger off of note repeat..and no sounds play.
For this Grid Edit Bug, I don't do anything complex. I used one of the preloaded drum kits to create a drum pattern. I sampled a phrase off a record and chopped it into 8 samples then assigned it to a program. After getting the sequences to sound the way I want, I entered the Grid Edit Mode. When I hit the pads, it won't play any sounds or let me record while in this mode. When this happens, if you go into the Q-link Edit page (Q-link mode + open window), the pads won't trigger any sounds as well.
Once this bug surfaces, Grid Edit will not work until I restart the MPC.
2. No sure if this qualify as a bug but this is something you should avoid. In the Sample Recording Mode, I set the input to CD as a source to sample from. As the CD played a track, I pressed the CD eject button. The CD ejected but the audio from the CD kept playing..to my suprise. After that, the CD drive as well as the hard drive can no longer be used until the MPC 5000 is rebooted.
