JJ vs Akai

JJ vs Akai

I have jj os 5.12 and have always used that since i purchased the 2500 with it installed already. I was thinking about purchasing the MPC2500 tutorials off this site. So, I wondered if i should switch to akai os to learn more of the features on this machine. Thanks

I think you should be fine. I don't remember too many places on JJ OS1 where he took existing Akai features out. It was mostly added features, fixed bugs, and new screens here and there.

It takes nothing to put the Akai OS back on (and you can always reinstall JJOS again later) if you run into trouble so don't worry either way.

At the very least, you should update to the latest, which is 5.54.

Have fun and don't sweat it. Its pretty tough to screw anything up.

I have been thinking of upgrading to JJOS for a while now. I've heard that it drops the direct record feature, other than that is there anything else that JJOS has dropped?
