We are all MPC users but we all are not full time producers. No one only wants to be an collector, hobbyist, or just a consumer of mpcs and music gear right?
Some people collect stamps..others collect coins.....some people collect baseballs and pay $1 million for themSo if someone wants to collect MPCs, keyboards, etc..so be it. I am a hobbyist. I enjoy that role in my spare time. By I don't feel a need to dis any of the fake Just Blazes on the internet because I really don't care what they do. What I wrote in this thread is not a personal attack on anyone. In the context of the Just Blaze rant, I left my opinion (like I always do) and respect everyone else enough to let them express their opinions. However, there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with others' opinions. I like the MPC 5000 and enjoy making music with it as well as testing the limits of its OS. As Just Blaze wrote...I am also a beta tester by nature. Again...the content of his rant is the same as what is being said across every forum on the internet about new products. The only difference is that this site appears to be the only forum dedicated to a brand name that outright hates that respective brand. Where's the love? (no need to answer that but if you do, just keep it in this rant thread).
By the way...everytime Akai drops a new MPC, it's funny to see how so many people around here hate on the actual users of these new products because they enjoy using them.![]()
...we get it. Akai is unpopular in this forum. Despite that, there are a few of us that enjoy their products and will continue to buy them. Everytime there is an MPC released that is better than my current one (such as the MPC 5000 being a major upgrade to the MPC 2500), I will pick one up as soon as it hits the streets and give you my honest opinion on it...that's what I do. My intention is not to be the next Just Blaze. But I wouldn't mind being the next Kanye.
Assuming what others think and want is one of the biggest mistakes one can make.
Most people want to make music plain and simple. Collecting equipment is your choice and more power to you.
Question is how to use it and what is your workflow? You know that the gear itself loses value after you walk out the store with it, the only REAL value is the ART you create with it. Sometimes a piece of gear has added value also because its previous owner actually did something with it.
Next Kanye or not (I`m a fan too) it is your ear, dedication, and mastery of your craft. No one hates a mpc user that is a fallacy and a figment of anyone`s imagination, No one can truly hate a piece of gear that they have mastered.
By the way I disagree this site isn`t Named Akai users site it is named MPC Forums for users of MPCs difference being about Learning and Using MPCs to Make Music not about bragging rights on collections.
PEOPLE Love what they do MAKING music and they want a very Comfortable Workflow to realize their Voices. When the tool as hand isn`t conductive to that with some problems they have a right to ask how to fix it or alternative ways of working.
However I do agree with you on one thing if any ANY MPC I OWNED didn`t work take it back and send as much email as one can to the Official Akai Professional Site. On this forum we are mostly producers, creators, musicians, DJs, and whatnots not the technicans or employees of Akai Pro.
Make music is my motto.
Any workflow tips Jah???

but then i was pretty impressed. almost enough to try and make something on it.. i probably will when work slows down.
