Sounds like Vaporware. I for one plan to conquer and use this MPC for at least 10 yrs since I invested the money in it. I believe it is better to invest the time in the machine to get your money`s worth. Something more advanced is always around the corner that is Moore`s law, but skill and technique comes from mastery of the tools you have now!! It isn`t what have it`s what`s between your ears!!! When is the next great, awsome producer with that booming sound coming out!!!! Yeah!!

The last thing I heard when I was AMIC was that the 2500 was being worked on. But that was just over a year ago, things may have changed.

Lol!Mpc 2000 xl simi pro and 1000 begininer and the 4000 pro. There all pro depending on how you use them and whats your needs for them. A Mpc 1000 could as much pro as a mpc 4000 could a beginner depending on who is using it.

yes but akai relesed these to certain markets and expeicnce levels. They shop the 1000 to the newbie and the 4k to the studio heads. Thats also why the prices are what they are. So yes i think pro semi begineer. Homeboy

I could def agree with calling the 1k entry level mpc for cheap

I dunno bout calling the 2k semi pro, especially considering it used to be the king of the castle, but when you break it down into the markets they are aimed for its certainly logical

So i am a pro if i have a 4k and a beginer if i have 1k or what happens if i have a 4k and 1k am i a beginner pro or a pro beginner. Im not tring to **** with ya cuz, but to me this is why its also hard to get into the game cause everbody puts some kind of stanard on every kind of gear. If you dont have this name your not this or if its not this mpc your not pro. Yea there is a difference in price but like i said its all about whay you need and want not because of your skill level. Because i have motif es and computer with motu 828 and nuendo 2 with waves plugins i dont think i would need a Mpc 4k. im not knocking what the 4k can do but if in my set up i have listed i added a 1k i could do more then the 4k could do. I have a 2kxl but thats all im saying.....its really about what you need and not need out of a mpc not your skill level. If i was new i would get a 4k, not a 1k , not because of my skill level just because of the fact where ever the MPc4k is going with all its features im gona be going to and there is no need to buy mpc's 2 times.

Much respect to all yall cats with the 4k's.....im a happy 2kxl guy! Man i dont even belong over here but from time to time i stop by the see whats good. I really believe most of yall know why yall need a 4k and i respect that but at the same time i think a few of yall get a hard on when somebody ask yall "What kind of gear you use" and you get to say "Blob blob and a Mpc 4000 studio plus".

listen any instument can be used in a pro enviroment, but the 1000 is a entry level piece of gear. Limited features. The 2kxl is def "pro" but it is aimed at the intermidiate beat maker. The 4000 has a full sampler and other fucntions. Im just sayin for the fuctionality of the gear, features, price range, they fall in those classes. dont argue about semantics. I know that a pro can use a 1000 or an electribe to make bangers. I make heat wit frutiyloops. But to who Akai is designing them for fall into diffrent demographics. Thats all i was sayin. The person behind the gear is where the PRO results are made. But from a business stand point AKAI sees u cats a beginner/intermediate/pro level customer wit certain needs to be accomadated.
