I agree with the great pair of ears, but the reality is you are not born with them you have to make them.
What I mean by this is experience trial and error.
Don’t expect to learn overnight how to tell between a 10 and 12 K tone
in the spectrum by using just your ears and not an analyzer.
You have to train your ears on how to tell what you’re hearing.
You need to be able to distinguish a high pass and low pass in the frequency response.
It’s like learning music notation.
You have to be able to tell between a minor 7 chord and major 7 chords.
Or else when you play is going to sound shitty because you don’t know how to tell therefore you don’t know how to hear.
And by learning these simple things. You are learning how to hear therefore having better judgment over what you’re really hearing.
