That's a bit harsh!
Harsh but true.

Run your samples thru real samplers, not these new plastic drum machines.

Ive been using a 2k for six years now, and im more than satisfied with the overall sound. But that being said, I always make it a priority to EQ to my liking before recording into the MPC. The difference between a dry sample with no EQ and one that has been equalized is night and day.
In summary though, what im saying is theirs not much you can do about the set 16 bit sample rate of a 2k, but is their so much that you can do about shaping a samples sound before it goes into the MPC.
As far as trading in your 1k for a 2k, thats likes trading in a phantom for a pinto.
LOL dont do it!
