This is no doubt the case. Question is: did it improve the timing enough to measure up to the XL? I'm interested in hearing from anyone who can test this. The search function has produced zero results on this particular comparison.
Opinions are well and good, but I prefer science.
I see what you are saying T7. You want a comparison of the 2000XL's timing and the 2500's timing.
My post didn't really state any opinions. If you are more interested in science than opinion, does it really make much sense to post up this question on a message board (where virtually everything is an opinion)?
Especially since you mentioned that you have searched and searched for this topic and have found zero results, it seems to me that there probably aren't very many people who own both the 1000/2500 and the 2000XL or have had both machines in their hands at a particular point and managed to do a timing test/comparison between the two.
If you are really passionate about looking into this, then I suppose at this point it would make sense to do the test yourself. Maybe rent the machines or borrow the machines from people you know who have them, run the experiment yourself, and record you observations. You know, like how scientists do.
You must be daft. Seems to me the biggest MPC forum on the web would be the first place to post my request.
Here's a shocker for you: There are quite a few on this board who own more than one MPC!
Now go do something useful.
