How many keygroups?

When creating a Keygroup Program, what is the maximum number of keygroups you can create within that program?

96x4

No, 96 samples in one keygroup x 4 layers per key and you can have up to 128 keygroups/programs per multi and 128 multis per session

Thanks for clearing that up. But when you say 96 samples in one keygroup...are you saying one keygroup can have 96 different samples assigned (4 layers per key) or are you talking about 1 sample assigned 96 times in a keygroup (w/ 4 layers per key)?

Yes, one keygroup can have 96 different samples assigned (4 layers per key)
Example:
Layer 1 String x 96
Layer 2 Horn x 96
Layer 3 Piano x 96
Layer 4 Flute x 96
Can equal 1 Keygroup and Im not talking about just pitching the sound up as you go through the scale Im talking about each key having its own sample. just as if you sat down with it in a room and recorded each note of a piano. if you wanted to set it up you could have up to 128 of those per multi

Aww naww is refering to a "keygroup program" as a "keygroup" which might be confusing you. Each keygroup program can have 128 keygroups. Each keygroup can contain 4 zones and each zone can have a mono or stereo sample assigned. So a keygroup program could have up to 512 samples.

96 is the number of pads that can be assigned to a drum program... 16 pads times 6 banks.

mmmmmm multi layered keygroups...sure wish we had that in jjos for standalone

Keygroups have keyspans so can use less samples like to cover 3 to 5 keys to say to make piano then layer 4 deep to that one keyspan. Now you can layer various programs/split the keyboards, blend the sounds and even get different sounds by velocity the world is ours.

With synth sounds you don't need alot of samples to cover octaves.

But with tradional realistic instruments like a piano the more you have
