Fxpansion Guru has the ability to trigger scenes, but not record the triggered scene data into a new sequence. It is possible to do the midi notes, but I would rather have a simple sequencer within the engine as I like to use standalone and track out like an mpc.

I would think this would be very possible, but probably would have to do away with mute groups/song or something and replace that with this.

I don't have any experience contacting JJ, so just wondered if anyone would be interested in showing him this.

And I don't expect it even in JJ2XL but I assume that he will still be working on later versions for more cash, and I would pay xl and beyond for this option.

Ok, I haven't put any request since xl dropped, so I reqested (..without any pressure.. )recording of the next sequence changes on xl. There was.. like a year or two ago.. ?somebody's idea about using PC>Seq changes to record that. We have immediate play option in the next seq and master tempo lock, so it should basically do what you need.

It's probably curently not possible, but as I said earlier there were such requests in the past without happyending.

could u be referring to my idea to use SSeq with PC>Seq# changes via a midi loop on the MPC to write/record superfast seq switching/ random access playback results?

just wandering if i'm just starting to see what u r asking JJ for....

edit, actually - i cant remember ever getting that to work,

hahha, yes i just did it, its been a while, so i was rusty on that. i got it working here really well now, but there's a special trick to it that i hadn't factored into the way it needed to work.

i'll try to be short here.

1. write a sequence with one track full of prog changes (i use a high one like seq#99, out of the way of the others to be triggered), eg: say PC#1-8 (will trigger seq's#01-08) in a varying 'random' order, on nice event points like kik snare downbeats etc...and can be actually pretty dense full of them, this is to be the SSeq (or "2nd" in OS2), and will run through all the others.

2.write the pattern seq's 01-08 full of nice beats, tunes, whatever etc, stuff u want to slap about. u could even put fx changes in there.

3.set the SSseq track MIDI out to be 1B, cable 'midi out B' to 'midi in 2'.

make sure:
A. in "next seq" page, 'immediate play' is the selected option, not 'immediate start' will cause sequence feedback.
B. in mode+pad9/midi - the 'change sequence by Prog Change' is ON.
C. all the seq's 1-8 are at least as long as the SSeq in bars (any shorter and the whole thing loops by the shortest seq length)

i think thats it, press play.
