Problems with Time section in the MPC 1000 : HELP!

Hi, I am new in the forum, please I need to have help with my Akai MPC 1000, I can't recording samples, because the Time in the recording window, can't to change for have more timing to recording. I am inserting a new memory card of 2GB and formatting the card, but when I going to setting the process to recording the Time in the window, still set in 00:27 seconds. The user manual say is neccesary to change the Time before recording, but I am trying to do it, with any possitive results.

I have followed your recommendation and it even continues appearing:
"SAMPLE MEMORY"
"FREE MEMORY ( TIME ) = 0m27sec."
"16 MB INSTALLED"

It will be that I am making something erroneous?

the 2gb card is not ram. u need to upgrade the ram memory

Please, let me know how i can upgrade the Ram in the MCP 1000?

Read the section about 'RAM' on p6 of the AKAI manual. (if you don't have it, download it from the akai site)

Use the Search forum on this board for where/which RAM to buy.

You can get that much cheaper, read the sticky.

Deactivate autoload, though. Even with 16mb you should have more time for recording.

Don't buy the EXM128. This is what I bought and it works perfectly:

yeah no need for the akai ram

AKAI ram = rip off! Don't be fooled by the name. Search for third party ram on ebay. Got mine for 12.95 includes shipping.

upgrade your ram then see how you go.
