even with the hard drive, i would still get those cards. for quick and easy backups i will use the CF card and the HDD.

ok, here's the result of this question...

unfortuantely, that is the only way to move files between the two.

that's why i would suggest something like this.

it will be pain to do this each time but it could be worth it.

I think I'd rather stick to backing up the MPC hard drive to my dedicated audio hard drive in my DAW. Right now, I'm using and 80gb, so when I buy the 80gb hard drive for the MPC, it'll be a perfect match for a backup drive. The thing is, I'll have to buy another audio hard drive for my DAW. I think a 300gb, 10,000 rpm drive would be the move eventually.

mpc is not a multi task machine. The CF card should be used as a portable storage between other mpc1ks or pc's since a hd will be in the 1k. now if you guys haven't check out the new 2500 that boy is bad. I will be investing in one for the studio to use with the 1k. transfering files back n forth. T"

http://www.impactcomputers.com/sw-250u2-lms.html

this is just a hard drive enclosure
its not a hard drive its self
so no one is misled
the case with the hd included with be a bit more expensive

I use that setup tho - to backup everything that I make

you will have to transfer your files to the pc then to the external hd

external hd's cannot be plugged into the mpc

that is why i said it would be a pain to do this each time. i did not mis lead anyone. in order for you to take advantage of that enclosure, you would have to take the drive out of the mpc to put in the enclosure and connect it to your computer to run your backup then put it back in the mpc.
